I barely have time to send off a little note. The payroll went horrible. Something was wrong with the file and I couldn't send it to the bank. No one was in the office to help me. Two were out for surgery and the other was at a boat show in Amsterdam. I was not set up with the Id and password so when I called the bank, they shut the account down. It took all day to get me set up with an ID and password. The customer Service girl was out with a doctor's appointment and the other person is on vacation. We were unbelievably short handed. I hope it is all straightened out tomorrow. I don't want to face irate employees because their pay is messed up again. I think it should go OK but what a nightmare. Murphy's Law rules at this company.

I walked Danny around the trails at the horse farm tonight and he found something awful to rub his face and neck in. I read where deer poo is a favorite stink substance for dogs to rub or roll in. I thought I had pulled him away in time but when I put him in the car and went to fasten his harness-seatbelt, I got some on my hand. It was fowl. I had some wipes in the car and cleaned off my hand but Danny had a horrific aroma all the way home. He went right into the tub. I guess the sampoo smelled as horrible to him as the deer poo did to me.

I had to get ready for my cleaning lady to come tomorrow and now it is past time for bed.

Problems with payroll and then deer poo. Wow, what a fun day you had.

Dear Karol,

I am catching up on your postings. It's really awful for me when I don't get to read about you and Danny's life too often. My sis is requiring much of our time and energy.

The incident about the rotweiller and Danny was just AWFUL. How terribly frightening that must have been for both of you. Those large dogs that have a natural sense of hunting can be so dangerous and plenty scary. I can't tell you how thankful I am to know that Danny didn't get hurt any worse than he did. But, I know it was most frightening and neither of you will get over it. I think it's sad that you no longer feel you can walk in your neighborhood safely. That's just not right.

However, having Danny roll in the deer poo isn't a pretty picture either. Your walking courses are dwindling I'm afraid.

Work sounds slightly nightmarish. It's difficult to imagine they left you without any support to do payroll. That's just not right! And, then you must suffer the wrath of the employees who didn't get the right amount, etc. And, pay-deprived employee's can be sooooo nasty. How unprofessional to think that nobody left instructions for you to comfortably handle this responsibility. You are so right - Murphy's Law does well-define your work days. I imagine weekends are becoming absolutely heavenly after 5 "fun-filled" days at work. I am hoping things will improve, but from what you write, it doesn't sound like anyone has ever done employee workshops or training. Eeeek!

Wishing you and Danny my best wishes and letting you know how very thankful I am that neither of you were hurt from the dog attack. Ruth
