Comments: September 22 Final Update

Actually, my father wasn't admitted to the hospital yesterday. He was there for the end half of his Tuesday & Friday treatments. He received plasma and blood, which is almost a weekly routine. He also got two bags of IV because of kidney failure. With the chemo treatment and phenomia he doesn't feel much like eating or drinking. Though week, we were able to bring him home last night. He'll now have a three day vacation until he goes back on Tuesday. The CAT Scan yesterday showed that his one lung was really rough with the phenomia, but the doctor's think the worst has passed for that problem. He is in his second cyle of chemo treatment and has reached the point of that treatment that the doctors call 'the pits'. No energy, some pain, and no desire to eat or drink.

I understand. Been there, done that, but no T-Shirt.

He needs to experiment with different foods. I rely on Boost Plus. It's not that great, but I just bite the bullet and get it down. Tell him to think of food as medicine, because it is.

Oh. Strawberry flavor is the only one I'll drink.

Isn't it great how people are always with you cheering you on through difficult times? For you Ted, I'm just praying that your energy begins to return soon and you can have better days. I honestly believe it's coming. The price is very high. $13,000 a year for your insurance. Wow! But, thinking on the positive side, we're so glad you're able to pay it so your treatments can continue (tough as they are).

And a message to Reb also. We'll be keeping your father and your family in our prayers also. He has had to endure so much too. He's very fortunate to have you as a son that cares very much for him. Bless you.

Our prayers for both of you, and for the many others facing illness in one way or another. God Bless each of you, and bless and care for the beautiful people that care for their loved ones. They're heroes as well. Ruth
