Hi Karol,

That's so sad about your church going downhill. But, you know what seems to be happening in our area is the long-time traditional churches are losing members and, the new life churchs are adding on constantly to their churches due to youth attendance increasing. The reason for the attendance growth at the new life churches is they have begun catering to the youth and the music is no longer traditional hymns. The music is youth bands playing loud Christian music. And, I almost think that is the way, and perhaps the only way, that churches will continue. The new life churches usually have a powerful minister that does preach very emphatically, and usually directly from the bible, which is a good thing. And, he speaks dramatically and rather loud, which is the way the youth of today seem to like to hear things. For me, I have a little problem with this new type of church, but, I guess to have churches survive and still get the word of the Lord out, there are changes that must occur, as in so many other things today. At least the next generation is hearing the words from the bible and this appears, in many cases, the only way for religion to continue.

I surely miss hearing the beautiful old hymns that we always sang though. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if this change in preaching the word of God fares well enough to have a new generation learning about God in a whole new way.

The times they are a'changing. And fast and furiously too. Ruth
