Good morning and Happy 4th.

I forgot to blog last night. I couldn’t get a connection on the lap top and when I went upstairs, I just got ready for bed.

Yesterday, I went to the client and trained Gary to do the invoices. I will go back on Thursday or Monday to show him how to do the receipts. Kathy wants two people to know how to do the work. The sessions went very well. I enjoyed being back at doing Great Plains work. I plan to contact our Rep at Great Plains in Philadelphia and see if anyone can use my help.

I was worried about Danny last night. He got up around 1:00 and got under the bed. The other night, he went into the computer room and got under the desk. He heard some firecrackers going off and I guess he went there to hide. The dog I had when I was a kid would do that. He may have heard some fire crackers going off last night and went to hide under the bed. I picked him up after a while and he slept next to me. He usually sleeps on the other side of the bed. About 3:00am he got up again and slept under the bed. Maybe he heard some thunder. I didn’t hear anything but maybe that’s what woke me up. He got up around 5:45 and curled up on Ted’s pillow. At 6:30, I took him out to do his business as it had been 10 hours since he went. He stopped short on the back porch when he saw the rain. I took him over to the hedge. He did his business and made a bee line back to the house. He likes being dried off with the towel.

I have some beautiful yellow lilies blooming out back. I hope to get some photos when the rain clears off. I’ll blog some more later.

Hi Karol,

And, I hope you also have a nice 4th of July Karol. May the entire world enjoy peace and freedom soon. But, for now, my husband and I feel very thankful to our men and women in uniform for protecting the USA. And, oh how we wish they could all come home to their loved ones.

It does sound like Danny Boy might be afraid of loud noises, especially fireworks and thunder. Poor baby. It reminds me of our now 13 year old granddaughter. When she was younger, she wore earmuffs whenever it thundered. And, she cried real LOUD too. There were no fireworks celebratins at their house for several years. Now, when we remind her of those days, she blushes slightly and feels embarrassed. Of course, at thirteen, if I remember correctly, we blushed at many things. Now, she rides all the scariest rides at Cedar Point and just loves it. But, because she screamed whenever she heard the first faint sound of thunder, she taught her younger sister to scream just as loud. They both survived and are pretty brave now. And, so did we!!!

Maybe Danny Boy never felt safe in his puppy days when the loud noises cane. I feel he never had much comfort before Ted & Karol. You've taught and shown him so much love since he came to live with you, maybe with reassurance, he will begin to feel safe when the loud noises come to scare him. He's really learned a lot of things and overcome some bad habits since you became his Mommy. I think you probably saved him from a very frightening future. And, he tries to show his appreciation by loving you lots.

The Hot Air Ballon Festival and Air Show are in Battle Creek now. So, we have been able to enjoy some fabulous sights. The Blue Angels did some amazing precision flying. They are just awesome to watch. The Thunderbirds have appeared several times and they're just wonderful too, but this is a first for the Blue Angels. They have also had many different types of stunt flying by amazing pilots that have thrilled the children so much, as well as all of us who never really grew up. Awesome stuff. And, when the balloons fly in the early mornings and evenings, it is so beautiful. Every color and size of balloons. Some are in shapes, such as Tony the Tiger, who, of course, represents the Kellogg Company, which is located right here in Battle Creek, Michigan. It's a hectic week of driving because so many roads are closed for this event, but, it's all worth it.

Enjoy your day dear lady. Thanks for all the pictures of Avalon (beautiful sunrises and sunsets), Danny and his friends at Erica's and your gorgeous flowers that would brighten anyone's day. Ruth
