It was a scorcher today. Danny spent the day in the air conditioned cat house. Erica had fans on her donkeys and her colt. Her dogs were in the house. Danny barked at first but settled down quickly.

I talked to my cousin after word and then to my aunt. My other cousin was in surgery all day and is doing well afterward. It was a long day for them as he had two different surgeries.

My real estate lady called and said her husband would start the work this week. I forget whether she said tomorrow or Thursday. Anyway, he’ll be starting on the hall ceiling and Friday will do the laundry room. I told him I would take the old tiles down and I hadn’t done it yet. I did that tonight. I let the hedge go as it was stinking hot. The air smells putrid. I thought it would be cooler working inside but that room isn’t air conditioned. It was hot but the job is done.

My friend Cheryl called in the middle of the project so I have to get back to her and it’s almost bedtime.

Dear Karol,

You know what you do that's so special? You tackle so many projects and get them completed - and then, you go to plays, work in your yard and with your flowers. It means that you intersperse your most busy life with the wonderful little cliche of "Stopping to Small the Roses". That isn't the easiest thing to do. Most of us do one or the other - you fit both into your life. Another big gold star for you Karol.

It sounds like our weather is similar. It is stinking hot here also. The humidity is awful and when you step outside, you feel you just can't get good air into your lungs. We're extrememly thankful for our air conditioner and that the places we go are air conditioned. This type of weather is very dangerous for folks who don't have a cool place to live. I hate to think of them suffering with this heat. And, usually, it is older people who aren't able to go someplace where it is cool, they are trapped in a sense. Anyway, it shouldn't be happening, but it is - right here in the good ol' USA. I don't mean to complain about our country because we have so very much, but, things aren't always parsed out equally.

We've just been very busy lately with our family visiting from CA and kids events, anniversaries, bithdays. Just a regular whirlwind of ativity lately. You life is like that nearly everyday it seems. You're awesome!!

Be careful working in this heat and that goes for Danny Boy too. Enjoy your day my dear. Ruth
