Pan out and you find houses in the corn field.

Hi Karol,

You are so right, your great aunt and uncle are surely turning in their graves. They call it progression and yet it looks so like regression when they replace the beautiful farm country into fancy suburbs. It's really tough to see some of the changes we greedy people want concerning homes. They get bigger and better(???) all the time.

My brother and his wife recently moved to Illinois. Mile after mile these huge big homes are being built on the formerly large farms acreage. I don't know if it is progress or not!! Oh well, I assume it will continue happening. I love the "before" picture of the beautiful barn. And, the only consolation is that the barn is still standing, however, with suburbia inching closer each year.

It sounds like you had a great time on the houseboat. It all sounded like such fun and I loved hearing about your day with family. A little fun mixed in with all the hurry-up work you've had to do lately was a great change for you.

I know you need to work so you have income, but, I also am happy to know you'll have time to take care of chores that don't fit into working schedules. How well I remember the rush of each day when I was working. I LOVE retirement. So does my husband - now he plays lots of golf and I'm so happy the day has come for us to relax and enjoy our lives together. We recognize the blessing of it all- believe me.

Hoping the rest of your week is enjoyable and productive. That converts to a little play and a little work. I know Danny Boy is glad to stay home with his mommy for awhile. He's definitely spoiled, but he's so good and such a great friend to you. He lovs you dearly - of that there is no doubt. A pet's love is priceless. I sent a blog to Ted one day shortly after you had gotten Danny Boy. I was telling hime how his description of having Danny in your lives was making me think we should get another dog. Our last dog was such a wonderful pet and when she died, we decided we wouldn't ever get another dog. Your dear husband reminded me that wasn't it worth it to have the joy of our "Coco?" I wish I could think of just how he phrased it - he said it so perfectly about the joy of having a pet as opposed to not having one. My point being that I think your Danny Boy is good medicine for you Karol and I know Ted knew he would be good for you too.

We've been having quite warm days, but, it cools down quite nicely during the night. Typical fall beginnings I guess. Thinking of you and wishing you a GREAT day. Ruth
