I took Danny Boy at 5:30am and then we went back to bed until 7:30. I had a cup of coffee and took him for a longer walk. The yard needed to be limed so I did it between storms. It had rained overnight and it started raining after I finished applying the lime. I found a bag in the garage. Ted must have bought more than he needed last time. I also had to wash off the back porch as a cat sprayed our door. I used orange wood cleaner. I can't find the Pet Odor Spray so I'll spray some Fabreze out there. I hate my house smelling like cat urine. I wish people would keep their cats in the house.

I piked up a lot of branches and after the second storm, I have to pick up some more. I am making some pea soup in the crock pot and have laundry to do. I have to wash the coverlet I put over my bed because Danny threw up on it again. I don't know what the problem was this time except I gave him a few tidbits of my salmon last night. Perhaps it didn't agree with him. He's had it before with no problem but who knows. He has a delicate stomach. Maybe he ate something when I walked him last night. He goes around sniffing the ground and sometimes he picks up something and eats it before I can get it away from him. He looks at me like the cat who swallowed the canary. At the kennel, he ate something that looked like horse manure. It may have been hay all smashed together but it grossed me out.

Hi Karol,

I was just reading that many New Jerseyites are without electricity. Hope one of them isn't you. I guess you won't get this message if you are one of the unlucky ones. You mentioned you were having thunderstorms and that was what they feel caused the outages. Many parts of the country are having severe weather in one form or another. We're feeling quite fortunate right now - we aren't experiencing any bad weather conditions. Whew - we'll take it and enjoy it while it lasts.

Concerning your job, just let the boss fret and stew and change whatever he wants to. That is what he gets paid the big bucks to do. You just do your best and that's all you need to do. It will reduce your stress level I guarantee. My last two years of working were awful. But, once I decided to just be a competent worker and let the boss take the stress home with him, my life improved a lot. Don't let it get to you so much.
Much better to enjoy your evenings and weekends without dreading work. It just isn't worth it - it really really isn't.

Decide this afternoon and evening to make the work week one that is okay for you. Your boss is the boss, so let go of it and let some of his comments roll right off your shoulders. That's the only way it is going to work for you. And, trust me, your health is at risk when you feel angry and frustrated. Train your mind to let it go Karol. I so hope you can try this approach. I've been there. And, also, as you mentioned, employment is going through some very tough times and having a job with benefits is a blessing of sorts. There are NO perfect jobs. Your friend, Ruth
