Hi Karol, I just wanted to let you know how very beautiful the pictures were. I so loved the peacefulness of the light snow that had accumulated on your lawn and the bushes. It sure does let us know that winter is upon us though. I always so enjoy the winter photos though because the snow creates some lovely snow sculptures by draping over plants and tree limbs., etc. And, I really really loved the holly greens with the bright red berries. Ooooh that was so pretty.

We have a pear tree in our yard and every other year it produces some berries. And, the deer just love them. We peek out at night and there are almost always deer pulling at the limbs to get the berries or eating them from the ground. It's always so beautiful because the snow is on the ground and there stands this lovely creature that is getting filled with berries. God provided such beauty in nature.

However, the snow also creates hazardous driving and walking. Our 15 year old granddaughter is in the hospital in Kalamazoo, which is about 20 miles from us, and the driving was very precarious yesterday. She is only 15 and has been diagnosed with a duodenum ulcer. The doctor told us he has never seen a case like this in such a young person. It isn't terribly unusual in older people in their 60's or 70'd, but, apparently for such a young person it is. She has been in excruciating pain. Boy, it sure is tough to see her suffering so much. At least now that a diagnosis has been made, they can begin treating it and we so hope she begins to feel better very soon. It has been feeling so overwhelming with my sister so very ill now that her cancer has spread to her brain, as well as her lungs, spinal column and ribs - and now, our precious granddaughter being so ill too. Life surely tests us right to the max sometimes. But, we know we can trust Him to provide the strength to get through this. But, it sure isn't easy. It surely reminds me Karol of the pain and heartbreak you have had to endure as Ted was suffering with his illness and then trying to live through the grief. Big mountains to climb for sure.

Always keeping you in my prayers and thoughts. Love, Ruth
