Danny got his bath today. He really uses up towels. When he’s done, the towels are soaking wet. I use the hair dryer on him to get him nearly dry, then he air dries. We went out for our walk and he tried to rub his neck on a dead bird. I think he tried something like that the last time I gave him his bath. I guess I’ll have to find a shampoo that is scented with skunk. He’d like that.

I’m trying to make heads or tails of this Medicare stuff. My Aunt told me to go online at the Aetna site and then give seminars. I did and they are having a seminar right here in the Vorlon City on the 13th. I also straighten out my mail order prescription on the phone and they helped me log in. For some reason, they would not accept my information.

I walked at the school tonight. My friends were not there so I walked with a lady named Katherine. She walked at the same pace I did. We did twenty laps for 3.14 miles. It took an hour.

Hi Karol,

You're right, figuring out Medicare always feels so complicated. It doesn't seem like it should be so difficult because the folks that need to understand it are us "oldsters" and we need things a bit simpler. You'll get through it though and I'm glad you found a seminar near your home where they can help you. There are oftentimes volunteers at senior centers that help too. We have a senior center in Battle Creek that offers nice volunteers to help with things such as Medicare, etc. Good luck and it will soon all be in order. I can almost hear you laughing out loud!!!

Isn't that strange how dogs are attracted to nasty smells? We were on a walk with our dog years ago and the dog met up with a skunk and WOW - did our dog get the worst of that run-in. We had heard tomato juice helps get rid of the smell, but, it must take a lot of tomato juice because it sure didn't work on the first washing. Eventually, we could pet her again without plugging our noses.

We're having sunshine today and it sure seems wonderful. It's cold, but always the sunshine helps us get through the day better it seems. I guess 6 more weeks of winter is what we can expect after Groundhog Day predictions. This winter has been a tough winter and I know everybody is looking forward to spring this year.

Have a good day Karol. Ruth
