Friday Flower Blogging

Rachel's bridal bouquet.

I'm still packing things up. Earlier, I took the grass trimmers and trimmed the grass/weeds that were growing over the curb. I need to take the rake and clear out the storm drain before the storm comes. The weather map show the outer bands reaching here but so far, it's the calm before the storm. It's dark with clouds but no rain or wind yet.

You would have thought we were having the hurricane on Lake Michigan. Grand Haven was having wind gusts of up to 45 miles per hour. It was up to 30 mph at our house. Sure makes the leaves drop fast.

Hi Karol,

I missed being able to read your blog for several days. My brother and his wife visited for 5 days, and I was truly exhausted when they left. I love them dearly, but, my sister-in-law has much more energy than I do, so she wanted us to do something all the time. My brother and Dave played lots of golf.

I have been feeling a bit concerned for you as we read about the hurricane. I'm praying you aren't going to be affected in ANY way. Stay hunkered down in a safe place if it closes in on your area.

You've really been busy with packing up and trying to keep both of your places looking good. At last, you'll soon be free of mowing and trimming your hedge in Vineland. I'm very happy about that!!

We're having cooler weather and lots of windy days right now. Our temps have dropped about 20 degrees, so we're in the 70's. The house actually felt too cool this morning. I've been saying that I thought one morning we'd wake up and the heat would be gone and whammo - fall arrived, and that just might be what has happened.

I love checking out barns too. There are some really nice barns and there are also many of them that look as though they would collapse at any moment. I liked your picture of the beautiful barn.

Well, I need to get busy and do something constructive. I'm feeling lazy today. We normally have a morning and evening service on Sunday, but, because of the holiday gatherings, we won't have our evening service tomorrow. I so love each service, but, as tired as I'm feeling, I'm sort of happy that we'll just have our morning service tomorrow.

Love, Ruth
