Vorlon Whispers

Hi Karol, Our power went out last Sunday evening and we were without until late Wed. We had an ice storm which made everything look simply gorgeous, but, it was hard to enjoy because your life changes without electricity. We had a heater which kept us comfortable and we have our own water source in our park, so we had cold water. We did just fine. We didn't even let our children know about it because they would have insisted that we leave and come and stay with them. Of course, we so appreciate their loving kindness for us, but, Dave and I actually enjoyed things to some degree. But, not too often - please!!

My baby sister who died about 1 1/2 years ago now has her husband to join her again in their Eternal Home. Her dear husband Carl died early Wed. morning. He went downhill quite quickly after my sister Judy died. She always took such good care of him and met his needs to stay healthy. He has been a paraplegic since he was 18 yrs. old and that required extra care. My sister Judy and her husband were the greatest team. Together they were great, but, without each other, he lost ground quickly. So, immediately after our power came back on, my brother and his wife drove from IL to stay with us so we could all go to the visitation and funeral together. It was truly a beautiful service and my sister was mentioned often because it was spoken by some of the guests that they felt Carl would still be alive if Judy was still with him. We'll never know. Our beginnings and endings are all in God's hands. Indeed, we may have some questions to ask God when we arrive. He is good even when we ponder the whys of life.

It was cold enough outside that we put all of our freezer items in bags and took them outside to our shed and they stayed good. I don't know why others didn't do the same. Many of them lost all the items in their freezers. And, also we were able to save all of our refrigerated items, and we felt thankful for that.

Your flowers were a welcome sight. I'm guessing that no plants or flowers felt safe enough to poke their heads out in our part of the country. But, yes, spring is coming. Yah!! Ruth

Ruth, I am so sorry to hear about your brother-in-law. It is very hard living without one's spouse. It would be especially hard for Carl being a paraplegic. Ted and I took care of each other when we were sick. When I'm not feeling well, I wonder what would happen to me if I became seriously ill and I worry about what would happen to Danny and who would take care of him.
