I have been away. Don and I participated in the Lighthouse Challenge of New Jersey. We climbed up and down every lighthouse in New Jersey from Sandy Hook near NY City to Cape May and around to the Delaware Bay. We did it in two days which is what they allow. Saturday, we started up at Sandy Hook and got down to the Ocean City Life-Saving Station. We skipped Atlantic City as it closed at 9PM and Ocean City closed at 6pm. We got to AC at dusk and climbed up the 217 steps to await the light coming on at 6:45. It was quite dark by then. I will post the pictures later. Sunday, we started with the range lights of the Delaware River and then to East Point LH on the Delaware Bay near where I lived in Vineland. Then we headed to Cape May Court House Museum and the Life Saving Station in Stone Harbor. Then on over to Hereford Inlet Light in North Wildwood. We ended the Challenge in Cape May Point Lighthouse with a climb of 199 steps. We received a gold seal in our book and a conk shell painted with the lighthouse symbol by a volunteer of the lighthouse. We had dinner at the Lobster House on the bay in Cape May. I got the broiled scallops and Don got the Crab Imperial. I ate it all. I must have climbed up an appetite. It was a beautiful weekend as far as the weather was concerned. A real Indian Summer.

Hi Karol, Your lighthouse challenge sounds like fun, but, the energy it must have taken to climb so many steps! Wow!! I'm proud of you and Don accomplishing this feat and doing it together is so very special. Great job!! Love you, Ruth
