Friday Flowerbloggin'

These yellow flowers are blooming in abundance. A neighbor, George, in Vineland gave these to me when we first moved to Vineland. He called them little yellow Italian Flowers. I brought some with me to Chesapeake City and they are doing well. They are also blooming in my shaded flower bed out back. I'll have to transplant more of them out there. The mulching and planting is done except for the portulaca garden out front. I am waiting for them to sprout and start growing. They come up with the crab grass. I weeded yeasterday and transplanted some that sprouted on the road next to the flowerbed. The purple cone flowers and daisies are starting to bloom and so are the Stella d'Ora lilies.

It started raining yesterday evening and has continued through the night and morning. Andrea is on her way. I battened down the hatches yesterday putting everything away that could blow around in the wind. High winds are not expected with this storm but lots of rain. Sparky is reluctant to go out. He stands in the doorway looking up at me as if I lost my mind.

Hi Karol, Hoping the rain doesn't hit your area too hard - and even more than that - I hope it's just rain that you have to contend with. The storms and weather conditions are so violent. All weather-related news seem to be warnings of some nature. I just want the good ol' days back. Maybe things were as bad when I was young, but, I just don't remember violent weather being forecast all the time. A thunderstorm now and then, but, I don't remember really scary weather. Maybe my parents just kept us kids from hearing the warnings. However, when I was young, WW II was the most horrible thing for me. My dad was an Air Raid Warden, which meant every now and then all the homes and businesses would need to turn off all the lights and my dad would head out to be sure everyone was complying. The purpose was that if we were to be invaded with aircraft dropping bombs, they wouldn't have the lights to direct them. I was just young enough that I didn't understand that these were practices and I was very terrified whenever we were completely in the dark and my dad would have to leave. Scary stuff for kids I remember that. I suffered from really scary dreams about bad stuff happening to me and my family from our enemies. Anyway, now it seems that weather conditions have become mighty scary reports too.

I wanted to let you know that both of my eye laser procedures seem to be very successful. What an easy fix this was for my eye loss concern. I am feeling very blessed indeed. Thanks for your concern. Now, I'm dealng with pain and a black and blue face from having 3 roots extracted yesterday because a bridge broke off. When this heals I'll have a partial plate made for the large area without teeth. Stuff just seems to be happening to me lately. Problems never just come one at a time. Oh well, I am blessed considering what so many others must deal with. Praying you didn't have to deal with too much weather and that your lovely flowers survive the heavy rain and probably high winds too. Sparky is no dummy, no wonder he looks up at you when you try to take him outside. He knows it isn't any place he wants to be. He is probably saying to himself - "hey, don't ya think it's a whole lot nicer in here, why would we go outside in that nasty stuff"? Love, Ruth
