I had some shopping to do so went to the Dollar Store for a few things and then to the Acme Super Market to get some food for my family dinner tomorrow and some groceries for the week.

I did some laundry and got the home ready for my dinner. Chairs brought out of the shed and the leaves put in the table. I cut up the veggies for my pot roast so they would be ready to put in the crock pot first thing in the morning.

Hi Karol, Love your new beautiful car. It is most unsettling to have an unreliable vehicle.

We also have people without electricity (and the storm was over a week ago.) We had to change the location of our Christmas Eve celebration from Hastings to Battle Creek. Many many people are talking about how Consumer's Power (our energy provider) failed in being prepared. We were all notified of the coming snow and ice storm. The electric company did not do any planning for extra help until after thousands of homes were without power. Help was hours or days away and with the wide-spread outages, things were very bad for SO many. We were very blessed to keep our power after the ravages of this ice storm. We offered our home to many in our family, but, most of them were apprehensive about leaving their homes. They had to find places for all their refrigerated and frozen food. Also, they felt like they should be home if the power did come back to be sure their wasn't a power surge problem. Most of those who lost power were without this luxury for at least a week and some even longer. With all of this happening during this important holiday season, it caused many stories as well as scrambling to find alternative places to have their Christmas gatherings. An awful mess. And, as I said, there are protestors out and about letting the energy company know how angry they are about not planning ahead.

As life moves along, I want to wish you a very Happy New Year my dear friend. Love, Ruth
