There are lots of critters around here. This lovely lady visited me yesterday. She was in the road beside my lawn. She started heading across the lawn and I thought she was going to the stream outback. She turned and headed for my flowerbed next to the driveway. She started pushing the mulch around and I thought she was going to dig out my azalea. My neighbor came and took her across to road to the hunting grounds. A half hour later, she was back and continued digging in my flowerbed. She stayed there a couple hours; I believe she was laying her eggs. I went to the church for Bible Study and she was gone when I got back and the hole she dug was covered up. I read on the internet that they lay 10 to 50 eggs with 35 being the average. They hatch in 3 to 4 months and they head to the water when they hatch out. The mother will not be back. I suppose she headed to the water and may be out in the Chesapeake Bay by now.
