Evolution vs Creationism

Here's a thought provoking article by a Tom Bethell in which he discusses evolution versus creationism. I think he makes some interesting points.

"my luck has been great in picking wives." So.....how many wives have you picked?

Back to the topic.
I remember a Nature program about the Grand Canyon. At the begining the comemtator noted that it took millions of years to create the canyon. But then later in the program, the commentator stated that a single rain storm could age the canyon by a thousand years. Go figure!!

The evolution, creation and intelligent design was tossed around at Calvin about 20 years ago. A physics prof and a geology prof were pushing intelligent design in an effort to appease both sides of the evolution/creation debate. Instead of appeasing them, the profs got attacked by both of them.

Evolution initially arrived from a disbelief in God. If there is no God then how did we come to be? For them, the solution was evolution.

One of the first problems they encountered was the fact that the earth was not old enough to support evolution at its present rate. So, they came up with their super mutant theory which called for a super mutant to appear every so often to advance the process.

It is pretty hard to disprove a theory that can't be proved in the first place. Evolution is bad science at best.

I just wish they wouldn't take a holier than thou attitude.
