Ants and Chocolate

The ants seem to be gone. The Vorlon Wife sprinkled powdered cocoa where the ants were coming in and we don’t see any in the house. She had also set out ant traps so I’m not sure which did the job. I’m beginning to suspect the cocoa. She put the ant traps in place the other day and they were still crawling all over the kitchen counter. Now I don’t see a single one.

When I lived in Catonsville, we had ants from all of the trees.

I bought a packet of Bay Leaves and laid them out on the counter and around the doorsill. This really worked.

After a few days, I'd pick back up and put back in the counter. And yes, I did label the container "For Ants - Do Not Use". I used the same bay leaves for about 20 years.

Geeeze the things we can all learn from reading Ted's blog. I thought Karols idea of sprinkling
chocolate was neat.

I believe the ant's that Reb. mentioned might have had been the larger carpenter ants. They can be very destructive once they get a toe hold.
