November 20 Final Update

The Vorlon Wife called the oncologist’s office and told them of my condition. The said this was not normal and told her to take me to the Emergency Room. I protested, but she was adamant.

Once there they took a ton of blood and some x-rays. My serum creaton is 3.5 and 1.5 is the upper limit.

The lung guy came in later and said he was going to drain my plural effusion tomorrow morning. He came back later and said, the more he thought about it, he’d like to try a different strategy. He will bring in a surgeon that will put a chest tube in and drain over a day or so. Until the fluid stops coming.

The they will go in with some chemicals and essentially glue the lung to the chest lining so that there is no place for the fluid to build up.

Although I’m not real enthusiastic about all this, I think the man knows what he’s doing. So I said, “Let’s do it.”

Now they just came in and said they’re going to do it tonight. Although I’d rather try to sleep the night away, sooner is better than later.

I must admit I miss our little four-legged friend. I wonder if he misses me.

The Vorlon Wife was wise to insist you go to the emergency room. Sounds like you've been feeling pretty awful, so hopefully this procedure will bring you much needed relief. That Vorlon Dog sure is a cutie. (Love those ears!). I'll bet he misses you, too.

Those Vorlon women can be pretty stubborn! Glad you listened to her, even though you didn't have a choice. Danny Boy will be happy to see his Daddy return home. Nora and I will be praying for you.

Hello Ted & Karol, We are so thankful that Karol made the call to your oncologist. And, now that you're in the hospital, I am so hoping and praying they can help you with some of the new problems that have really come to get you. The picture of Danny Boy certainly says how comfortable that little guy has become in his new home. I know you're missing him, and I know he really misses you too. God Bless You and praying that you will soon be feeling some better We all feel better knowing you are always there for him Karol. Wishing you both a nice Thanksgiving. And, so hoping you can enjoy it somewhere other than the hospital room. But, whatever will be will be. In friendship and caring, Ruth

I know Danny Boy is very happy we are all gone! He can breath sigh of relief that we aren't there to pester him.

Glad we could come to help you out a little bit. And sorry you were so under the weather. (And for the record, I knew you were only fooling with your little spasms.) This marathon run ain't over yet!!!!!!!
