Friday Flower Bloggin'

071815yellowlilies.gif

My beautiful yellow lilies are in full bloom. New air-conditioner and heater being installed today. They had a devil of a time getting the heater in the small cramped space but its in. The air shouldn't be so hard. Hope its in before it heats up out there.

I was not feeling well last week. I have a virus, high BP, allergy cough, trouble breathing, and threw my back out weeding and trans-planting some flowers. I went to the Chiropractor in the morning and the doctor in the afternoon. I felt so terrible, I asked my friend, Alice to take me. All my tests came back normal except my cholesterol was up. I have been on a low fat diet and lost 10 pounds. That was good. I needed to shed some pounds. Alice was having back trouble, too so we haven't been walking along the canal. Friday, I could hardly walk the dog. Robin and her daughter walked him for me in the afternoon. Saturday, I felt a little better but Sunday my back hurt again. I went to the Chiropractor on Monday for another treatment and that fixed the problem. I am feeling much better and would like to walk but it rained. Alice has to go to her son's today and tomorrow she has to take her cat to the vet in the morning and then go to her doctor in the afternoon.

Tomorrow should be nice. Maybe I'll walk around town. I don't want to walk along the canal by myself. It is too isolated. The doctor prescribed an inhaler for me if I need it. I don't want to have a breathing problem somewhere along the canal. In town, there are people around.

I think we have had so much rain that the air is filled with mold and mildew spores. One of my neighbor's is having the same problem that I am.

While walking along the canal last week, Alice and I saw this hot air balloon flying down along the canal. It started coming down and we thought it was going to land in the water. It must have been no more the two inches from it. Lucky, it was right in front of the Coast Guard Station if they had need help. It was a nice walk that day. We saw boats and the Bald Eagle flying over the water. We often see eagles; sometimes they dive down to the water and catch a fish. It is an awesome sight.

This is my grand aunt Fannie with my brother, Rick. The photo was taken around 1937 at Aunt Fannies farm. Most of my youth was spent at the farm every Memorial Day, Forth of July and Labor Day. Aunt Fannie invited all her brothers and sisters and their families. They stopped during WWII when all the young men were away. They resumed after the war. Everyone would bring their favorite dish and we all enjoyed the good food and spending time with family. We never had to wonder what we were going to do as we always went to the farm. We played softball and quoits and hide and seek. We went hiking and swimming. I miss the good old times and my family who has passed away. I spent today alone. I think it was the first Forth of July I spent alone. it's a bummer. It was a cloudy, rainy day which made it seem more dreary.
